Kevin Brennan, Chief, Navigation Branch, Operations Division of the US Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District

Kevin Brennan started with the US Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District in April 1985 and worked for many years on the construction of levee projects in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. He has worked on numerous environmental restoration projects in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. From 2007- 2013, he took over as the project manager for the Paul S. Sarbanes Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island, a large-scale environmental restoration project in the Chesapeake Bay that is being rebuilt through the beneficial reuse of dredged material.

In 2013, he was promoted into the Baltimore District's Operations Division where he is currently the Chief of the Navigation Branch. He has the responsibility of surveying and maintaining 87 miles of deep draft channels which serve the Port of Baltimore, 90 shallow draft channels with over 200 miles of channels, and 37 structures. He is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of a fleet of survey and debris removal vessels. He thoroughly enjoys working with a very dynamic team of stakeholders from various State, Local, and Federal agencies and the public in the execution of the Baltimore District’s navigation mission.
