Peter Goodwin, President, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science

Peter Goodwin is the president of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES). Goodwin is the founding director of the Center for Ecohydraulics Research at the University of Idaho, an interdisciplinary group working on the simulation of ecological response to management actions or changes in physical processes of rivers, lakes, estuaries, and wetlands. He served as Director of the Idaho EPSCoR/IDeA program that links university research, workforce development, and economic development. NSF funded projects included Water Resources in a Changing Climate and Managing Idaho's Landscapes for Ecosystem Services. Goodwin has served as Lead Scientist for the Delta Science Program in California and has served on the Independent Science Board for California and the LCA Science Board for Coastal Louisiana.
