In 2015, Prince George’s County’s long-term contract with a major waste hauling company ended acrimoniously leaving the County in a desperate situation to find a replacement operator for their single-stream materials recycling facility. The County issued an emergency procurement to provide for this operation. Unfortunately, no acceptable proposals were received, putting the County is dire circumstances. After touring the facility, MES put together a successful operating proposal for the County, which was accepted and has allowed for improvements in safety and production ever since.
