Guidelines
The
Western Acceptance Facility (WAF), at 3310
Transway Road, Halethorpe, Maryland, has been
operated by the Maryland Environmental Service
since July 1, 1990.
The
facility accepts Municipal Solid Waste (MSW)
transfer, curbside generated recyclables transfer,
and provides a convenient drop-off center to area
Baltimore County residents, both for general
household waste and recycled material disposal.

Solid Waste received at the Western Acceptance
Facility is compacted into MES operated transfer
trailers, and hauled to Baltimore RESCO (in the
downtown Baltimore area).
Recycled materials are transferred to the
Baltimore County Resource Recovery Facility for
processing.
