| Leafgro®,
the rich organic compost that MES creates from
leaves and grass clippings in Montgomery and
Prince George's counties is having its best sales
year ever.
Last
year, the agency's marketing team set a new record
for Leafgro® sales moving 337,232 bags and 108,000
cubic yards of bulk material.
The
combination of a sustained program of
face-to-face visits in garden centers across
Maryland and an ongoing advertising effort has
pushed sales numbers even higher this year. So
far, bagged Leafgro®
sales are up 22.5 percent and bulk sales are up 23
percent over last year.

exciting to see this growth," said Ann
Bleinberger, chief of Compost Marketing. "I
have been selling Leafgro for the agency since it
was first created in 1984 and it has been so
rewarding seeing the general public gain an even
greater appreciation for this high quality
recycled product."
