Quarterly Update

MIDSHORE I:

New Cell Construction is underway. 

George and Lynch, Inc.  General Contractors from Delaware, started construction of Cell # 4, the final element in the MIDSHORE I design, in September 2006 and are expected to finish before May 1st of this year. The new cell is designed to hold approximately 800,000 tons of waste.  This will provide adequate capacity for the four Midshore Counties through the schedule closure of MIDSHORE I at the end of CY 2010.

MIDSHORE II:

Geosyntec Consultants, Columbia, MD area office, has been selected as the lead design firm for MIDSHORE II, which is to be built near the Town of Ridgely. This new state of the art facility is to be opened in Caroline County in 2011. 

DOMESTIC WELL SAMPLING:

The next opportunity for the eligible neighbors of MIDSHORE I to participate in the ground water monitoring program will be March 20, 2007. They will be sampled as part of MIDSHORE I. Individual letters will be mailed to the properties owners concerned.
