The mission of this Program is to serve the needs of the Service's clients in the filed of environmental investigation and analysis, solid and hazardous waste management, recycling, dredged material management with emphasis on planning, operation of dredged material placement sites, environmental monitoring, and use of dredged material as a natural resource.

Disposal of solid and hazardous waste is at the root of many of our most critical waste management dilemmas. MES is one of the few organizations with the experience, capabilities and resources to build, finance and operate reliable, state-of-the-art solid waste facilities, including sanitary landfills, transfer stations, incinerators and resource reclamation centers.

MES offers site analysis, planning, design, construction, operations and laboratory services for modern sanitary landfills. To assure maximum protection against contamination of the groundwater, MES staff has utilized technologies such as double polyethylene landfill liners and leachate collection and re-circulation processes.
