GEOLOGIST TRAINEE/GEOLOGIST I

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Geologist Trainee or Geologist I (Grade 2 or 4) in Millersville, Maryland.  Responsibilities will include review of applications, technical data, and other reports pertaining to permitting wells to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations; entering information into a database; and report and/or technical memo preparation.  The successful candidate must be able to keep organized records to document activities and will provide direct support to clients.  Experience with spreadsheets, databases, and GIS (ArcView and/or ArcMap) a plus!

Minimum qualifications include possession of a bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related Earth Science field from an accredited college or university, ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and a valid drivers license with less than six points under Maryland law. 

The Geologist I requires 2 years of work-related experience; an applicable advanced degree may be substituted for up to two years of work-related experience.
