PLANT ENGINEER

Maryland Environmental Service has a vacancy at the ECI Cogen located in Westover, Maryland for a Plant Engineer (Grade 7).  Responsibilities include providing technical assistance, long term planning and management of the facility’s current and future capital improvements and major maintenance programs. Also provides immediate engineering support as needed to ensure the Facility’s reliability. Manages the administration of the Facility as communicated by the Executive Director.  Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university or Technical Institution with major in an engineering discipline plus ten (10) years of experience in systems engineering to include hi-pressure steam applications, steam and motor prime movers for electric power generation, automated switchgear for distribution and control. Problem solving through the application of engineering principles to include thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, electronic control technology, inert gas system, waste heat recovery system and various combustion and emission control systems and a valid driver's license with less than six points.  Excellent benefits package including 401K, choice of health insurance and performance based pay.
