MECHANIC I

Maryland Environmental Service has a vacancy for a Mechanic I (Grade 2) at the Montgomery County Recycling Center in Derwood, Maryland.  The preferred candidate must be proficient in electrical operation and troubleshooting of motors, blowers and conveyors, to determine problems and service equipment.  Minimum qualifications include graduation from a standard high school or possession of GED equivalency certificate and three years experience performing installation, repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment and a valid driver's license with less than 6 points. 

Note: Formal schooling from an accredited vocational school with a major in a related field may be substituted for experience. Education experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to three years of the required experience.
