Environmental Specialist II-III

MD Environmental Service has a vacancy for a full time Environmental Specialist II-III in the Technical and Environmental Services Group at the Headquarters in Millersville. Primary responsibilities include environmental laboratory coordination and project management, supervision of water and wastewater lab scientists, data review and tracking, and permit compliance monitoring and reporting.

Minimum qualifications: BA/BS in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field, plus three-five years of experience with environmental laboratories, environmental regulations, compliance, permitting and project coordination. One year of experience must include responsibility managing environmental projects and providing leadership to professional and technical staff. Requires knowledge of environmental regulations specific to laboratory analysis and methods (preferably for water and wastewater,) excellent client service skills, ability to coordinate work with peers and technical personnel, and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Also requires skills in data review, data entry, and attention to detail. Must be computer literate, specifically with respect to spreadsheets and word processing.
